The Government's recent announcement about the increase in Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) has pushed us to make a decision that, quite frankly, we're sad about.

From 1 November, after over 13 years' sterling service, our OnCover self-issue pack is being retired. We've not taken this decision lightly, and we were committed to maintaining the pack for the foreseeable future, despite the fact that usage of OnCover has been sharply declining. However, we believe this is the Government's first step towards steadily increasing IPT to even higher levels. Weighing up the pack's simplistic approach against the practicalities and costs of keeping the cover notes and premium tables up to date, we felt we had no option but to withdraw the pack.

So, the OnCover pack will officially be retired on 31 October and from 1 November 2015, we will no longer be able to accept cover notes. We'd like to take this opportunity to offer our thanks to everyone who has sent us business via the pack over the years.
